THE RESORT

This special place has been designed from the very outset to be "a different kind of resort" only a minutes from Ubud center. Waka di Ume has been operated since 1995. To begin with, it has been designed to be small and intimate; only sixteen dwellings eleven in the lanai style, two villas and three suites. It is an escape from the modern world. Away from television, away from radio, and even away from telephone, if you wish.

THE ROOMS

Your room has been created to combined traditional Balinese esthetics with modern style and comfort. The materials are local stones, folk-weave fabrics, cane bamboo and weathered wood.

The atmosphere is spacious and generous, cool and inviting, informal and relaxing. The lightweight cotton robes and comfortable sandals are for you to wear wherever and whenever you are in the resort. The canopied beds allow cool breezes to waft around you, while deterring the occasional mosquito. The bathrooms, sunken bath with hot and cold water and their views into private courtyard gardens, enhance the feeling of freedom and naturalness.
