Day 01: Denpasar - Labuan Bajo (L,D)
Our purpose today is to see the Komodo Dragon. This largest living
lizard on earth lives on 3 islands Rinca, Padar & Komodo and
some parts of West Flores. Its length can go up to 3 meters with
weight of up to 90 kilo. After arrival in Labuan Bajo transfer
to the harbour. Here boarding to cross to less famous Rinca island.
Lunch on board. After 1 ½ hour sailing we reach Loh Buaya.
Led by a local ranger 2 hour soft trekking through forest and savanna.
Komodo Dragons are often spotted on the way. From the highest point
on this hike a beautiful panorama of the surrounding island. Dinner
and overnight on Board*
Day 02: Komodo Island & Pink Beach - Labuan
Bajo (B,L)
Early breakfast on board and departure for Komodo island. This trip
over blue tropical waters and past hundreds of small island will
take approximately 3 hours until Pink Beach . Here lunch and time
to discover the splendid underwater world of these rich waters (snorkels
and fins are provided). On to visit Komodo island and make a walk
(1 hour) with a local ranger in search of the Komodo dragons. During
your visit also wild buffalo, deer, pigs and various species of
tropical birds like the Cockatoo can be seen. Return to Labuan Bajo
will take around 4 hours. Upon arrival at the harbour transfer to
Hotel EcoLodge* in Labuan Bajo for overnight.
Day 03: Labuan Bajo - Ruteng (B) 137 km
Morning to Ruteng. En route visit the Mirror Cave and spiderweb
ricefields at Cacar. In the afternoon visit the old centre Ruteng
Puu and Liang Bua: The cave where recently the bones of the short
Homo Floresiensis (the hobbit) have been excavated by scientists.
Overnight at Dahlia Hotel.
Day 04: Ruteng - Bajawa (B) 133 km
In the morning depart for Bajawa. On the way visit Lake Rana
Mese. In the afternoon visit to the traditional village of Bena.
Besides still in tact, with the megalith stones besides the old
houses, this village has beautiful location with views of Mount
Inerie. Overnight Bintang Wisata - Bajawa.
Day 05: Bajawa - Moni (B) +/- 150 km
Depart for Moni. Near Bajawa visit the traditional village of Wogo.
Along the way beautiful views of the Ebulobo volcano At Pengga Jawa
the beach is filled with green stones. And at Ende visit Soekarno's
House. Continue through beautiful landscape to Moni. Overnight at
Floresare Hotel.
Day 06: Moni - Mt. Kelimutu - Maumere (B) +/-
150 km
Early morning wake up call for departure to the Kelimutu volcano.
A short walk (30 minutes) will take you to the look out point to
wait for the sunrise. Kelimutu means Mountain of the Spirits. Known
for its famous 3 colour lakes: Turquoise, Brown and Black. It's
the dissolved minerals that give the different colours. Breakfast
after return to the hotel. En route to Maumere stops at At Paga
Beach a moment to relax and if you like you can swim here. Sikka
is known for is old church from 1899 and Ikat which is enthusiastically
sold by the local people. Ledalero Museum. In this small museum
you will see a collection of woven Ikats and precious stones. Wuring
in Maumere is a Fishing Village on stilts. Overnight at Sea World
Club.
Day 07: Maumere (B)
At leisure until transfer out to the airport.
