Spa Villas
The three Spa Villas reflect the elegant Balinese architecture of the
Resort. Natural materials combine with native designs in such blissful
elements as teak wood cabinets and flooring, hand-blown glass wash basins,
hand-loomed Sulawesi silk furniture coverings, customised terrazzo massage
tables and thatched roofs.
Each of the Spa Villas accommodates tandem treatments for couples.
For convenience, they are connected to outdoor bathing pavilions offering
steam showers, while large soaking tubs with adjacent open-air showers
discreetly overlook private garden courtyards. The close proximity of
the fast-flowing Ayung River provides a soothing natural accompaniment
to the treatments provided by the Resorts highly trained therapists.
AYURVEDA the "science of life" is India's natural
healing sistem. It is a holistic science, more than 5,000 years old,
believed to be the oldest healing therapy in existence. In ayurveda,
we address prevention (of ill health), longevity and natural healing.
Four different body treatments are available: Suci Dhara, Chakra Dhara,
Shiro Lepa and Facial Lepa.
Suci
Dharma
"Suci" in Indonesia translates as awakening and balancing
of the body, heart and soul. A scalp massage to improve circulation,
relaxing muscle and nerve fibres commances the treatment. It continues
with warm herbal oils rhythmically dripped onto the forehead for mental
relaxation and clarity. Then a warm herbal oil body massage aids in
detoxification, and nourishes the nervous system. One finishes with
a steam bath and an herbal dosha tea. Restorative, warming and balancing
care for total well being.
Chakra Dharma
We seek to restore dosha (individual's constitution) and chakra (energy
points) imbalance by dripping herbal oil on four key energy points along
the central nervous system. A back, scalp, hand and foot massage is
performed prior, by two therapists to clear any toxic blockages, and
to receive the healing and restorative properties of the flow of oil
onto the chakras.
Facial Lepa
The purpose of this traditional Ayurvedic facial is to detoxify, feed
and nourish the skin. First the skin is cleansed with an herbal exfoliant,
then hydrated with an herbal lepa (mask). The mind is cooled and calmed
with the addition of shirodhara (pouring of oil) the third eye, which
tones and nourishes the skin.
Shiro Lepa
This herbal scalp treatment commences with an Ayurvedic back and scalp
massage to improve circulation to the head, relaxing muscle and nerve
fibres. An herbal lepa (mask) is then applied to regulate scalp disorders
and dry hair. It refreshes the mind and body, relieving tension and
fatique.
