P.T. SARITAPRIMA COAL was founded as a result of the MITRA JAYA GROUP'S success as coal mining contractor. A proven track record, and extensive experience in the field, led the government to entrust the MITRA JAYA GROUP with the management and operation of a coal mining concession in Pasir Regency, East Kalimantan, in cooperation with P.T. Tambang Batu Bara Bukit Asam.

In its initial stage, the mine, with a total concession covering 99,600ha, is slated to produce 300,000 - 500,000 tons of coal per year. With carefully planned expansion, addition of new equipment and other facilities, production is expected to reach its full capacity of 1,500,000 tons annually in the year 2000.

To guarantee a trouble-free operation, P.T. SARITAPRIMA COAL has a fully equipped workshop on site to minimize down-time and maximize productivity.

In addition, P.T. SARITAPRIMA COAL plans to provide, among various other facilities,
a computerized production control system operated by skilled personnel.

P.T. SARITAPRIMA COAL both supervises and operates coal deposit concessions, and handles marketing and sales in its role as a Trader in both the domestic and export coal markets. P.T. SARITAPRIMA COAL has successfully bid for various tenders for the overseas market, and is active in the domestic market.
